Elizabeth Jane Hurley has been a model and actor in England since the late 1980s. In the year 1990 there was speculation that she might be Hugh Grant's lover. When Hugh Grant's movie Four Weddings and a Funeral was the focus of worldwide media attention, Hurley accompanied Grant to the film's Los Angeles premiere wearing a black Versace dress and gold safety-pins. This instantly gained her media recognition. Her relationship in the company of Estee Lauder has been the major highlight of her career. Hurley was recruited by Estee Lauder as her first model when she was 29. In 1995 she has been used as a face in the products of the company such as Sensuous Intuition and Pleasures. The most famous of her roles is her role as Vanessa Kensington, in the hit spy comedy films International Man of Mystery (2007) and Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me (2000). Hurley is currently a model and designer for a beachwear collection named after her. Perry's efforts to achieve popular recognition were unsuccessful. Before any new material could be released the two major labels signed but then removed Perry. Capitol Records however released Perry's EP Ur So Gay in 2007. The title song was a fun and playful track that received little interest. I Kissed a Girl, a confident tribute to her fascination with sexuality that is set to a gritty electronic-pop beat, made a bigger splash several months after. The song caused controversy and some critics accused it of promoting the same-sex relationship and others asserting that the explicit sexual scene was created to appeal to the men's fantasies. However, the mix of titillation and polished melodicism contributed to the fact that I Kissed a Girl become a number one hit across multiple countries, generating sales for her album One of the Boys (2008). Hot N Cold, Perry's bouncy and sharply-tongued album with its second hit single also became a huge hit. The album Perry wrote by herself sold more than 3 million copies.
